Veterinary Exam

Routine veterinary exams are an opportunity to address changes in your dog or cat’s health.

Taking your furry friend to the veterinary hospital for regular check-ups is one of the basics and foundations of being a good pet parent. We perform comprehensive tests and assessments on your pet during these visits, which will help identify any underlying problems. Also, based on results, your veterinarian will be able to decide if any changes are needed to your pet’s current treatment plan, diet or routine. Call us at 250-376-7208 to schedule your pet’s next appointment and to learn more about what we offer during our veterinary exams here at Central Animal Hospital.

What happens during a veterinary exam?

It helps to think about what happens during annual physical exams for us humans. Usually, your pet’s veterinarian and our registered veterinary technologists will perform the following checks or tests during these wellness exams: temperature, pulse and breathing checks, weigh-ins, bloodwork, as well as x-rays and other diagnostics if needed. You will also have a detailed conversation with your veterinarian about your pet’s diet, exercise, behaviour, dental health, lifestyle, elimination patterns, any concerns you may have, and any other factors about their wellbeing.

What are your office hours?

We are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

What is included within my exam fee?

After the physical exam is done extras such as nail trimming, anal gland expression and ear cleanings can be done for you at no additional cost.
